California Medicaid Plan CenCal Health Streamlines Its Pay-For-Performance Quality Care Incentive Program

CenCal Health, a California Medicaid plan serving Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, launched a new quality incentive program called Quality Care Incentive Program (QCIP) to replace five different programs. QCIP went into effect on March 1, 2022. It is a pay-for-performance program aligns financial incentives to health care provider organizations with excellence in their clinical care of health plan members. The plan has more than 210,000 members who are served by over 1,500 local physicians, hospitals, and other provider organizations.
