California Medicaid To Delay Adding Institutional LTSS As Managed Care Benefit

The California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) is implementing a six-month delay for adding institutional long-term care services and supports (LTSS) other than skilled nursing facility services into Medicaid managed care plan contracts. The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) had intended to launch this new coverage in January 2023. It now plans to delay the launch to July 2023.
