A new pilot program at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, California will equip 100 rooms with Aiva, an Alexa-powered platform that serves as the world’s first patient-centered voice assistant. The program will allow health care consumers in the hospital to communicate with nurses—as well as control their entertainment, such as changing the TV’s channel—via Amazon Echo devices.
