CharterCare Announces New Medicaid Accountable Care Program For UnitedHealthcare Care Members
In an effort to lower costs and improve overall patient health, CharterCare Health Partners and their health provider group Rhode Island LLC have created an accountable care program to include nearly 5000 UnitedHealthcare Medicaid members. The new program both improves member access to high-quality care while saving the program more than $100 million yearly. Despite these savings, both eligibility and benefits will remain constant.
The program is a result of the current tend toward a structure mandated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that rewards for quality care and patient outcomes rather than number of patients served . . .
