Grand Canyon Education Announces Acquisition Of Orbis Education Services

Grand Canyon Education, Inc. (Grand Canyon) recently announced it is acquiring health care education organization Orbis Education Services (Orbis). Orbis provides pre-licensure health care educational programs at 17 accredited universities throughout the United States.

The $362.5 million purchase—which is anticipated to close during the first quarters of 2019—will see the two organizations combining their education services to address the country’s current shortage of licensed health care professionals. Grand Canyon leadership cited the quality of Orbis’s nursing and health care education as primary reasons for its interest in its programs.
