New Kansas City Triage And Assessment Center Offers Alternatives To Mental Health Crisis Patients

On October 28, 2016, the Kansas City Triage and Assessment Center located on 2600 E. 12th Street, held a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony. The center offers eight beds mental health stabalization and eight beds for alcohol treatment where those in need can stay up to 23 hours for initial treatment and assessment. Police and medical teams now have an alternative option for treatment instead of jail or the emergency room: the center not only provides better services for the citizens in question, it also relieves some of the population pressure put on the former locations.
