Michigan Expands 2024 Medicaid Coverage To Include Community Health Worker Services
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) said that, effective January 2024, Medicaid coverage for Michigan beneficiaries will include services offered by community health workers (CHWs). MDHHS selected the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance. The goal is to facilitate provider organization qualification assessment, certification, and the development of a registry of certified CHWs.
MDHHS said the registry will assist Medicaid beneficiaries in gaining access to qualified CHWs for services covered by Medicaid.
