Milford, Bridgeport Hospitals Move Forward With Merger

Bridgeport Hospital (Bridgeport) recently announced it will be moving forward with its purchase of Milford Hospital. The acquisition is expected to take several months to complete, and the two hospital will operate independently during that time.

Bridgeport—part of Yale new Haven Health—currently admits about 20,000 consumers and provides nearly 300,000 outpatient treatments annually, while Milford Hospital serves more than 50,000 consumers annually.
