New Assistance Program Offers Free Naloxone Pens In Six States
A new pilot program from pharmaceutical company Kaléo will give people suffering with opioid addiction the ability to receive free naloxone pens. The Virtual Standing Order program,which will be available across six states, seeks to reduce the number of drug overdoses related to opioid addiction.
Evzio, which is the type of naloxone being distributed by the program, is an auto-injector with the purpose of reversing opioid overdoses. The program will be available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, and Ohio.
