Nonprofit PHMC Is Closing Carson Valley Children’s Aid, Cutting All 96 Jobs

Philadelphia’s Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), a large health and human services nonprofit, plans to close services at Carson Valley Children’s Aid program in Flourtown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania by September 15, 2025. The closure was reported in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry in July 2025.

According to a statement from PHMC, “CVCA’s debt and operational expenses—including costs associated with managing the 70-acre campus—have become unsustainable for PHMC.” The statement also said that PHMC considered bankruptcy for the subsidiary, but decided to close . . .
