Penn Medicine Partners With Cost Plus Drugs
Penn Medicine partnered with Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drug Company in a deal that covers purchases of generic drugs dispensed through Penn Medicine retail pharmacies. The Penn Medicine retail pharmacy network fills over 1.5 million prescriptions annually across 16 locations.
Kevin B. Mahoney, chief executive officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System said, “Cost Plus is a new model that will eliminate unnecessary mark-ups on common generic medications and allow us to reinvest those savings in care innovations that are giving patients new choices and setting new standards for medicine.”
