Pennsylvania Establishes Office Dedicated to Alzheimer’s, Dementia & Related Disorders
Pennsylvania’s new 2024-25 Commonwealth Budget includes funding earmarked for the Department of Aging to establish an office for Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Related Disorders (ADRD).; The budget included $1.9 million in funding for the office, which will be housed within the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.;;
The office will lead policy initiatives and coordinate systems of care. About 50% of Pennsylvanians over age 85 are diagnosed with ADRD. The number of Pennsylvanians diagnosed with ADRD is expected to exceed 320,000 in 2025.;
