Pennsylvania Governor Creates Behavioral Health Council
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed an executive order creating a new state Behavioral Health Council, which is expected to develop a statewide action plan to deliver timely and quality mental health and addiction care services. The council is expected to develop specific recommendations to reduce wait times for care or services for individuals with mental health illness or addiction. Gov. Shapiro’s office said the council will also focus on new and innovative care delivery models, workforce challenges, social needs and inequities, and collaboration between various systems to treat the whole person.;;
