Recovery Centers Of America Agrees To Pay $2 Million To Resolve Allegations That It Mishandled Controlled Substances and Provided Inadequate Treatment Services
United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Recovery Centers of America (RCA) has agreed to pay $2,000,000 to resolve allegations that it mishandled controlled substances and provided inadequate treatment services. Specifically, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) alleged that RCA failed to comply with provisions of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) intended to prevent diversion of controlled substances for illegal uses. A whistleblower complaint alleged that RCA violated the False Claims Act (FCA) by billing the government for drug and alcohol treatment services that it failed to adequately provide.
