South Carolina Awards $48.2 Million To Improve Medical Access in Rural & Underserved Areas
South Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services awarded one-time infrastructure grants totaling $48.2 million to create or improve facilities in rural or medically underserved areas. The 26 grants, totaling up to $3 million each, are focused on improving access to quality medical care across several areas, including primary care and behavioral health. Grantees must operate grant-funded facilities for a minimum of five years.
