Trinity Health Affiliate Closes Behavioral Health Unit In Darby, Pennsylvania

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic affiliate, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pennsylvania closed its 21-bed inpatient behavioral health unit on October 26, 2024. The decision to close the unit was attributed to operational and financial challenges.

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is a 178-bed teaching hospital that offers advanced acute care services in Delaware County and Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is one of four operated by Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic. The other are Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia and St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.
