Virginia Dementia Patients & Caregivers To Benefit From Federal Grant
The Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services will receive a $276,000 grant from the federal Administration for Community Living, allowing the organization to better serve its dementia population. The monies will broaden the FAMILIES caregiver intervention program to support training for care providers and family caregivers. The FAMILIES program has trained more than 130 caregivers in the Charlottesville and Williamsburg areas since the program's 2014 inception, and the new grant will allow about 100 additional caregivers of individuals with dementia to enroll in the program.
