The Managed Care Developments Keep Coming
Most states are selecting managed care as their strategy for "bending the cost curve." That's clear from our monitoring of state Medicaid programs. As of 2010, the total Medicaid population was 54.6 million, 39 million (71.5%) of which were enrolled in managed care (see National Summary of Medicaid Managed Care Programs and Enrollment). Quite the increase over the 9.8 million (29.4%) who were covered in 1995.
