LAUSD Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Reorganization
January 4, 2011 The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has reorganized its special education local plan area (SELPA) to provide charter schools serving students with disabilities with greater flexibility and autonomy over the funding and delivery of special education services. The LAUSD reorganized SELPA was recently approved by the California State Board of Education (SBE) and is the first of its type in the state.
