On January 4, 2017, the State of New Hampshire released this Senate Bill 220 to change the definition of mental illness for the purpose of involuntary commitment to include opioid use. The Department of Health and Human Services states that New HampshireĀ Hospital and other designated receiving facilities do not currently treat opioid abuse as part of their services.
