New Jersey Claimed Medicaid Adult Mental Health Partial Care Services That Were Not In Compliance With Federal & State Requirements
On January 5, 2017, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) published this report regarding New Jersey's incorrect claim on Medicaid adult mental health partial care services that were not in compliance with federal and state requirements.
During a prior review of New Jersey’s claims for Medicaid services to adults with mental illness who reside in community residences, the DHHS identified a significant number of services improperly submitted for Federal Medicaid reimbursement. On the basis of these results, the DHHS decided to review clinic services provided to these Medicaid beneficiaries on an outpatient basis.
