ADA Charge Data by Impairments–Resolutions FY 1997-2010
January 11, 2011 In 2010, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received 25,165 disability-related employment discrimination complaints that accused an employer of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These complaints were about a quarter of the 99,992 filed with the EEOC in 2010. The 2010 disability discrimination filings were four percent higher than in 2009 and 59% higher than in 2000. The EEOC settled 2,597 (10.6%) of these ADA cases, and found no reasonable cause for 15,182 (60.3%) of the filings in 2010. Of the remaining 1,186 filings found . . .
