Veteran Homelessness: A Supplement to the 2009 Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress
February 10, 2011 In early February 2010, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Housing and Urban Development released a benchmark analysis of the extent and nature of homelessness among veterans. The data revealed that on any given night in 2009, nearly 76,000 veterans were homeless and another 136,000 veterans spent the night in a homeless shelter. Overall, veterans represented about 12% of all homeless individuals counted during the 2009 point-in-time snapshot count. Download the Report . . .
