Medicare Part D: Contract Year 2011 Medication Therapy Management Program (MTMP) Submission

March 8, 2010 In March 8, 2010, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released information about the expanded Medicare Part D medication therapy management program (MTMP) for 2011 contracts. The expansion calls for private insurers offering Part D plans to automatically enroll eligible members in medication management. Eligible members must have at least $3,000 annually in total drug costs, take several drugs and have at least two chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, respiratory disorders, bone diseases or arthritis, and mental health disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, or depression.
