Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services Regulations for Supportive Living Facilities as Part of Specialized Health Care Delivery Systems
March 15, 2011 On March 14, 2011, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HCFS) started a pilot supportive living program for people with Alzheimer's and dementia. The project will provide apartment-style living, medication supervision and ongoing health monitoring, personal care, exercise and wellness programs, meals and other services for residents of five supportive living facilities in Decatur, Effingham, Rantoul, North Aurora, and Chicago. The Illinois' Medicaid program will pay for partial or complete medical care and services for eligible residents. Payment for housing will still be the responsibility of residents.
