The ruling was issued on March 27, 2017. The plaintiffs alleged that the Iowa Department of Education improperly denied their student special education services. They sought reimbursement for tutoring services after their child was found ineligible for school special education services. In the March 2017 ruling, the judge said the family was entitled to reimbursement for the tutoring costs, as well as attorney fees.
