National Strategy for Quality Improvement in Health Care
March 25, 2011 The federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a national strategy for quality improvement in health care; it focuses on making care safer by avoiding errors, ensuring person and family-centered care, and promoting care coordination. Initially, HHS will focus on six priority areas that it feels have greatest potential for rapidly improving health outcomes and increasing the value and effectiveness of care for all populations. As the strategy is implemented in 2011 and beyond, HHS intends to work with stakeholders to create specific quantitative goals and measures for each priority. Download the Report . . .
