Massachusetts Medicaid—Review Of FFS Payments For Services Covered By The Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership; For The Period July 1, 2010 Through June 30, 2015

On April 3, 2017, the Massachusetts Office of Medicaid (Masshealth) released this performance audit of fee-for-service payments for services covered by the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2015. The audit found that MassHealth paid $93 million in improper payments and another $100 million in questionable payments for behavioral health services that should have been paid by the Massachusetts Behavior Health Partnership. The potential improper payments of $193 million represent 7.4% of the approximately $2.6 billion MassHealth paid the Massachusetts Behavior Health Partnership . . .
