March 6, 2010 Researchers at the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions made projections about the extent of Medicaid long term care (LTC) cost growth for ten states. The projections included a base projection, the best, worst, and most likely scenarios for Medicaid expenditures. The four projections included:  The base case which used current Medicaid expenditures trends without intervention The best case scenario with a five percent savings in future Medicaid LTC expenditures without enrollment increases The worst case scenario with a 40% increase in Medicaid enrollment without cost savings The most likely scenario with a 20% increase in Medicaid enrollment . . .
