The executive order was issued on April 10, 2018. It directs the Secretaries of the Treasury, Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, and Education to review all regulations and guidance documents of their respective agencies relating to waivers, exemptions, or exceptions for public assistance program eligibility requirements. The goal is to add and strengthen work requirements that must be met to qualify for public assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and low-income housing benefits . . .
