April 18, 2011 On April 18, 2011, the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare alleging that the state’s eligibility broker, MAXIMUS, has denied individuals with disabilities access to Medicaid home- and community-based waiver services.The plaintiffs allege that the denial of access constitutes discrimination, violating their civil rights to due process.
