Sacramento County Board of Education Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Fortune School of Education Countywide Benefit Charter
April 29, 2011 On May 12, 2011, the Sacramento Board of Education approved a charter petition by Fortune School to operate five schools to serve underperforming students, with a focus on closing a "severe and persistent achievement gap" between African American and white students throughout Sacramento County. The memorandum of understanding provides the details of how the new charter schools will operate and what is expected of them.
