Health Care in the Texas Prison System: A Looming Fiscal Crisis
May 1, 2011 The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston Correctional Managed Health Care Committee (CMC) released the report in May 2010. UTMB has provided 80% of correctional medical care in Texas since the 1990s. The report summarizes UTMB-CMC operations and its efforts to control correctional health care costs.
