CMS Transmittal 144: Changes to Medicare Home Health Therapy Services
May 6, 2011 On May 6, 2011, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released a Medicare policy transmittal clarifying the Calendar Year 2011 Final Rule for Home Health provisions related to therapy services provided in the home health setting. Medicare will cover home health therapy services if the skills of a qualified therapist are needed to restore patient function, maintain patient function, or to design or establish a maintenance program.
