In May 2014, the American Hospital Association and three hospitals, Baxter Regional Medical Center, Covenant Health, and Rutland Regional Medical Center, sued the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services because the administrative law judge (ALJ) hearings and decisions were not taking place within the 90 days specified in the Recovery Audit Contractor program.
