AnMed Health EMTALA Violation Settlement With HHS Office Of Inspector General
On June 2, 2017, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and AnMed Health (AnMed) came to this settlement agreement over AnMed's violations of The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). An HHS investigation found that in 36 incidents AnMed had not promptly referred or admitted individuals seeking emergency care for psychiatric crisis. In entering the settlement, AnMed admitted no guilt or liability; the settlement sets out the terms and conditions . . .
