Michigan House Bill 5274, 2015-To-2016 Budget Conference Report, With Changes To Boilerplate Section 298 Related To The Public Behavioral Health System
On June 9, 2016, the Michigan legislature released a revised budget proposal for the fiscal year that begins October 1, 2016. A key revision amends Boilerplate Section 298, which in the Governor's budget had language calling for the state to end its current behavioral health carve-out with the counties to deliver Medicaid and public behavioral health services. The revision establishes a workgroup to develop recommendations about changes to behavioral health financing, and submit those recommendations to the legislature during January 2017.
