Brown v. Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital, et al.

On June 11, 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada in cooperation with Sacramento civil rights attorney, Mark Merin, filed a lawsuit seeking class action status, Brown v. Rawson Neal , against a state-funded psychiatric facility operated by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. The plaintiffs allege that the Rawson Neal facility's discharge practices resulted in dumping the named plaintiff and other psychiatric patients in out of state locations without appropriate connection to care. A hearing date has not been set.
