Medicare Program: Payment Policies Under the Physician Fee Schedule & Other Revisions to Part B for CY 2010; Proposed Rule
July 13, 2009 The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services proposed reducing payment for imaging services; the resulting savings would be used to increase payments for other services, including primary care. The Medicare Physician Fee Schedule will be adjusted to include data about physicians practice costs from a survey designed and conducted by the American Medical Association. The changes will result in a projected six to eight percent increase in payments before a projected 21.5% rate cut for 2010 and other changes to the fee schedule . . .
