Mississippi Autism Advisory Committee 2011 Report to the Legislature
July 1, 2011 The Mississippi Autism Advisory Committee was formed by the legislature; its mission is to study, make recommendations, and develop a strategic plan on how best to educate and train students with autism. In this inaugural report, the committee noted that the number of public students with autism spectrum disorders increased by 307% between 2002 and 2010, but the true prevalence in the state is unknown because no state agency tracks individuals diagnosed with autism.
