Preliminary Injunction In J.J., et al., v. Wisconsin Department Of Corrections

On July 10, 2017, the United States District Court For The Western District of Wisconsin issued this preliminary injunction in relation to J.J., et al., v. Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The preliminary injunction orders the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to make changes to its disciplinary policies and practices for juveniles in detention. The changes affect the use of restrictive housing units, pepper spray, and mechanical restraints. The preliminary injunction also orders the state to provide mental health evaluations and support for youth with mental health problems.
