Pennsylvania Claimed Medicaid Administrative Costs For Provider Training Under Its Restraint Reduction Initiative

The report was released in July 2012 by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The OIG investigated the state’s claims for reimbursement for a nursing home training program called the Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative, which operated from 1996 through October 2017. The initiative had been funded by state grants financed by civil money penalties levied against Pennsylvania nursing homes found to be out of compliance with standards for long-term care.
