States Paying For Behavioral Health Visits On Same Day As Medical Visit

July 23, 2010 In July 2010, the Substance Abuse And Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) published a map of the United States updating survey work conducted by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) in 2007 that documents which states will reimburse providers for behavioral health visits on the same day as a medical visit: 30 states pay for same day; 14 do not cover same day services; tjree are undetermined; and three pay for services but not FQHCs on the same day.
