In August 2013, the Rhode Island Office Of The Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) released an assessment of its Affordability Standards policy for fully insured commercial insurance health plans. The report was commissioned by OHIC to evaluate the Affordability Standards by: updating the earlier Affordability Standard assessments; evaluating the efficacy of each standard to achieve OHICÂ’s desired aims; and recommending modifications to the Affordability Standards based on the evaluation.
