August 10, 2011 A study by fosteringconnections.org analyzed the number of foster children who exited the system from foster care after reaching the age of 18 or older. In 2010, about 11% of youth in foster care aged out at age 18 without having a safe and permanent family. The incidence of foster youth aging out has increased to 7.1% since 2001. August 10, 2011 A study by fosteringconnections.org analyzed the number of foster children who exited the system from foster care after reaching the age of 18 or older.
