U.S. Department of Justice Investigation of New York Juvenile Justice Facilities
August 14, 2009 From June through November 2008, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation inspected four of New York's juvenile justice facilities: the Lansing Residential Center, Louis Gossett, Jr. Residential Center, Tryon Residential Center, and Tryon Girls Center. DOJ focused on assessing whether youth were adequately protected from harm and if sufficient mental health care was provided.
