August 20, 2010 Lake County, Florida received a $750,000 grant from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to operate a Forensic Community Service Team to identify offenders with mental health and addiction disorders and connect them with appropriate treatment. The program starts in January 2011 and will operate for three years. Lifestream Behavioral Center in Leesburg will oversee the program. The county expects to serve 100 offenders during the project.
