Consumer Direction Workgroup Second Biennial Report to the Texas Legislature
September 1, 2010 The Texas Consumer Direction Workgroup formed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission found that participation in consumer-directed services (CDS) by people with disabilities tripled from 2008 to 2010. In February 2008, about 2,000 consumers directed their support services; in February 2010, more than 6,000 were directing their own services.
