Mental Illness Surveillance Among Adults in the United States
September 1, 2011 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended increased surveillance of adults with mental health disorders as a way to improve public health. The report is an agency-wide compilation of data from selected population surveillance and information systems that measure the prevalence and effects of mental illness, associated risk behaviors, associated chronic medical conditions, and utilization of mental health-related care and clinical services in the U.S. adult population.
