In September 2013, Rhode Island Medicaid launched the first phase of a new integrated care initiative for Medicaid beneficiaries receiving long-term care services and supports (LTSS) due to a disability or chronic health condition. The initiative will also enroll individuals dually eligible for Medicare as well as Medicaid beneficiaries. During phase one, over six months the state anticipates enrolling approximately 28,000 individuals (dual eligibles and Medicaid LTSS recipients) into health plans operated by Neighborhood Health Plan of RI and CareLink.
